WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Mark Pocan (WI-02) released the following statement today after President Donald Trump signed into law the bill to rename the Sun Prairie Post Office after Captain Cory Barr.
“I am proud to have led the effort that renamed the Sun Prairie Post Office as the Fire Captain Cory Barr Post Office—signed into law today. Through his heroic efforts, Captain Barr helped evacuate more than one hundred people while responding to a gas leak in downtown Sun Prairie,” Congressman Mark Pocan said. “After the explosion led to his tragic death that day, the people of Sun Prairie lost an unforgettable leader from their community. With the support of my colleagues in the Wisconsin delegation, I am proud to ensure Captain Barr’s memory is honored and remembered in Sun Prairie for generations to come.”
