MADISON – The Disability Service Provider Network (DSPN) would like to commend Governor Tony Evers for signing an executive order today establishing a Task Force on Caregiving. DSPN represents providers across the state who support people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
“In the 50 years DSPN has represented providers, we have never seen a workforce crisis like the one we are experiencing today,” said DSPN CEO Lincoln Burr. “Sadly, it is poised to only get worse. Providers have been working diligently for years to bring pay rates to parity with other local businesses, but because services for people with disabilities are almost exclusively funded through Medicaid, we can’t fix this problem without the state’s help.”
DSPN is excited to see the Evers administration recognizing and addressing this
crisis.
