“It couldn’t be more obvious that Brian Hagedorn plans to bring his extreme, partisan agenda to Wisconsin’s Supreme Court”

MADISON — Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has broken news that Supreme Court candidate and Scott Walker’s former lawyer Brian Hagedorn was paid more than $3,000 for speeches to Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), an SPLC-designated hate group that supports criminalizing homosexuality and sterilizing transgender people. Hagedorn refuses to release transcripts of his speeches or commit to recusing himself from any future cases involving ADF.

“It couldn’t be more obvious that Brian Hagedorn plans to bring his extreme, partisan agenda to Wisconsin’s Supreme Court,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Courtney Beyer. “We now know Hagedorn has acted on his radical, discriminatory beliefs multiple times. Why should we believe he’d be fair and impartial on the bench when all evidence suggests the complete opposite?”

This isn’t the first time Brian Hagedorn as been caught espousing homophobic ideas. Hagedorn recently received widespread criticism for blog posts he authored likening homosexuality to bestiality. He then refused to apologize and would not say whether or not he still held such hateful beliefs. Additionally, Hagedorn co-founded a K-8 private school that explicitly discriminates against LGBTQ students, teachers and parents.
