[Madison, WI] – The Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Wisconsin today elected Andrew Hitt to serve as the Party’s new Chairman. He replaces Brad Courtney who recently stepped down from the position after serving for more than eight years.
Hitt, who is senior counsel at Michael Best & Friedrich and the chief operating officer of Michael Best Strategies, has been a member of the RPW executive committee since 2016 when he was elected treasurer of the Party. Most recently, he served as the Party’s first vice-chair and interim-chair following Courtney’s departure.
“This is a crucial time for Wisconsin Republicans, as our state could very well decide the next presidential election. As a former Party chair of the RPW and the RNC, and someone who has worked alongside Andrew for many years, I can say with confidence that he is the right choice to lead our organization. Andrew will bring a fresh perspective to the Party while ensuring we stay true to our mission of being a grassroots driven organization,” said former State and National Chair Reince Priebus.
“Andrew was chosen by the committee because we see in him someone who will lead our Party with vision and a strong commitment to our membership, our mission, and our values,” said Mary Buestrin, who has served as national committeewoman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin since 1992. “We very much look forward to working with Andrew as we embark on this next chapter of our Party’s history.”
