The Assembly unanimously approved a series of bills that would raise wages for collective bargaining employee contracts for construction projects.

The move came after the Joint Committee on Employment Relations approved the contracts last month.

AB 706, 708,709, 710 and 711 would ratify employee contract agreements between UW-Madison, the UW System or the state of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin State Building Trades Negotiating Committee for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 fiscal years.

The contracts would boost wages by 2.13 percent in 2018-19 and 2.44 percent in 2019-20. Payment for previous dates would be provided to employees in a lump sum retroactive payment.
