Jason Childress, a Madison-based Public Affairs Director for Foley & Lardner LLP, has been elected to serve as president of the Association of Wisconsin Lobbyists. AWL is the organization for government relations professionals in Wisconsin. It was formed to protect and advance the rights of the governed and is committed to facilitating high professional standards by keeping members informed of regulatory law, administrative rules and other applicable policies.

Childress is a seasoned government affairs professional who counsels corporations, non-profits and trade groups on all aspects of state and local government advocacy and procurement. He also assists clients with the state legislative and budget process in Wisconsin as well as engages with state agencies on regulatory and purchasing matters. Childress is a registered lobbyist with the City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County and Dane County, where he helps numerous clients engage with Wisconsin leaders to achieve their goals.

As a member of the firm’s State Attorneys General working group, Childress helps clients to engage the Department of Justice to advocate for the interests of our clients.

Childress, who previously was AWL’s vice president, will begin his one-year term as president on January 9, 2020.
