Senate Minority Leader Janet Bewley told Dem activists now is not the time for the faint of heart.

She encouraged Dem activists to fight through the challenges facing them in their own lives amid the COVID-19 pandemic to organize this fall and turn out to vote.

“This is no time for weenies. This is time for Wisconsin bratwursts,” she told the virtual convention.

Bewley, D-Mason, and Assembly Minority Leader Gordon Hintz, D-Oshkosh, urged activists to turn out and defeat Donald Trump this fall. They also asked them not to forget about the Dem legislative candidates who will be on the ballot, too.

Hintz reminded the convention Republicans need to net just three seats in each house of the Legislature to reach the two-thirds majority necessary to override a veto from Gov. Tony Evers without any Dem votes.

Hinz told Dems they’re all committed to supporting Joe Biden this fall.

“But I want to remind you Wisconsin’s future is at stake as well,” Hintz said.
