Every eligible voter deserves to have their vote counted — that’s the cornerstone of our democracy. And democracy suffers when eligible, registered voters are turned away from the polls, unable to find their polling place, or otherwise prevented from exercising their right to vote.
That’s why every election year — and particularly this election on November 3rd — we need to mobilize and activate nonpartisan Election Protection volunteers here in Wisconsin. These trained, nonpartisan volunteers serve as voters’ first line of defense against confusing voting rules, insufficient infrastructure, rampant misinformation, and needless obstacles to the ballot box.

There’s a role for everyone — whether it’s helping voters from home, assisting voters safely in person, or tracking online disinformation. Sign up today!
- Become a volunteer nonpartisan social media monitor. With support and training from Common Cause staff, you’ll assist voters with questions they post online — as well as correct misinformation and disinformation on major social media platforms.
- Become a volunteer nonpartisan Poll Monitor/Election Observer. Help keep elections safe, secure, free, and fair this November 3 by becoming a volunteer as an in-person Election Observer. Monitor what is happening in real time at the polls. Training and polling location placement provided by the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin.
- Volunteer to provide in-area voter assistance. The Voter Helpline (608-285-2141) is for voters throughout Wisconsin to call for nonpartisan answers and assistance. The Helpline is used by voters seeking rides to or assistance while at the local DMVs to obtain an ID, needing help applying for absentee ballots, getting a witness signature, and other voting related assistance. The Voter Helpline is looking for volunteers throughout the state to provide on-site assistance to local voters living in the same area. Sign up through Protect the Vote (select “assist with hotline”).
