MILWAUKEE – County Supervisor Felesia Martin congratulated County Executive David Crowley on his first day in office in statement released today. Crowley was sworn in this morning by Judge Joe McDonald as the eleventh Milwaukee County Executive and the first African American elected to the position.

I am in awe of this moment in Milwaukee County’s history. This is an inflection point where all of us working together can make positive change to address the pressing issues confronting us as a community. I look forward to working with County Executive Crowley on our shared priorities for economic development, improving our management of the House of Correction, addressing racial inequality and improving health outcomes for everyone in Milwaukee County, protecting our parklands, improving access to public transportation, and many other important issues.

Supervisor Martin is Chair of the Economic and Community Development Committee on the Board of Supervisors. She was re-elected to a second term representing Milwaukee County’s 5th District on April 7, 2020.
