Time already is running short to schedule a significant number of tests, making it imperative that owners refocus their efforts on meeting DOT drug compliance testing requirements.
Employers and owner-operators are urged to take DOT drug compliance testing as seriously as ever. Any leeway that FMCSA offers in meeting these requirements depends on the severity of unusual circumstances your organization is facing during this time. It is not something you want to take for granted.
FMCSA requires employers to provide written documentation explaining why you were not able to meet DOT drug testing requirements. Simply stating that testing facilities or testing personnel were unavailable will not be good enough. You will need to document the efforts you made to look for alternative testing resources.
