Vulture Capitalist Destroying Rural America Funds Van Orden Campaign

TOMAH — Since August 3rd, the so-called “American Patriot” PAC has spent $181,218 in the Republican primary race in Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District between Derrick Van Orden and Jessi Ebben. $90,609 has been spent in support of Van Orden and an additional $90,609 has been spent on deceitful attack ads against Ebben, which falsely claim that she did not vote for President Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

One of the American Patriot PAC’s top donors is Paul Singer, the vulture capitalist whose dirty dealings caused the destruction of Sidney, Nebraska, former headquarters of Cabela’s. The town of approximately 6,000 lost nearly 2,000 jobs due to Singer’s influence in merging Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shop shortly after purchasing shares in the company.

Van Orden moved to Wisconsin’s 3rd District less than a year before announcing his candidacy for Congress. He has not responded to Ebben’s request for in-person debates. He has been hiding behind the attack ads paid for the American Patriot PAC’s dirty money. He will not be beholden to the people of Wisconsin’s 3rd District in Congress. He has already been bought by crony capitalists who prey on rural American towns. It’s time for him to denounce the lies about Ebben and explain his relationship with Singer. What did he exchange with American Patriot PAC donors for help defeating the surging conservative dark horse, Jessi Ebben, in Wisconsin’s 3rd District Republican primary?
