[Appleton, Wisconsin, 12/3/2020] Outagamie County Circuit Judge Greg Gill Jr. officially announced his candidacy for the Third District Court of Appeals today.
Judge Gill enters this race with an impressive number of judicial endorsements. Including David Prosser, who served both as a Republican speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly and as a Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice. One of Gill’s associates is quoted as saying:
“Judge Gill possesses the essential qualities of common sense and empathy for the people who come before him. He combines this with a reverence for the laws the legislature has passed and has demonstrated the courage to make tough and difficult decisions. He enjoys the universal respect of other judges and the lawyers who practice in his courtroom.” – Attorney George Burnett
Gill looks to build on an already impressive career that has taken the shape of both public and private practice. He has served as an assistant district attorney for Outagamie County. He then served as a law clerk for Federal District Court Judge William C. Griesbach.
In 2011, Gill was appointed to the Outagamie County Circuit Court by Governor Scott Walker; he has since been re-elected twice. During his time on the bench, he has handled criminal, civil, family, and juvenile matters. Currently, he is the presiding judge for the Outagamie County Mental Health Court and handles the court’s complex business litigation cases. Gill has also previously presided over the County’s Veteran’s Treatment Court.
