(Madison, WI) Today, Senator André Jacque delivered the weekly Republican Radio Address regarding the Wisconsin tourism industry.

Listen to the radio address here.

“Hi, State Senator André Jacque here to talk tourism. It’s an honor representing some of our state’s most exciting and breathtakingly beautiful destinations, including Door County, the Lakeshore, Titletown and the Fox Valley. Every part of Wisconsin has unique and inviting experiences and attractions, with our beaches and lakes, great places to stay, and the best Friday fish fries.

“From fishing, swimming, and boating, to hiking, hunting, and camping, it’s all here with a list of activities as endless as your imagination. Wisconsin tourism is a vital 22 billion dollar industry that employs over 200,000 people in our state. The face of tourism in Wisconsin looks like your neighbor’s, small business owner’s, mom-and-pop shop’s. In the wake of everything that’s happened, our hospitality industry has dedicated itself to meeting the highest standards of health and safety, and now more than ever it’s critical that we give them the help they need to survive and thrive as our nation’s economy recovers. There’s a lot more state government can do to promote tourism safely and empower our local hospitality leaders as they roll out the red carpet. Tourism can’t be political, and my Republican colleagues and I will continue to reach out to Governor Evers to build the supportive policies and investment needed for local and regional marketing.

“These last few months have been tough, but we can all get through this together. As Wisconsinites, it’s essential for us to keep showing our hard working small businesses that we trust them, we support them, we’re listening to them and we’ll work with them. Wisconsin is the best, and friendliest, place to stay and to play. When it comes to fun- we’ve got it all! So enjoy your summer, travel Wisconsin, and support your hometown, too. Thank you!”
