Dane County Judge Jill Karofsky vows in her first TV ad of the general election that she will hold violent criminals and corrupt politicians accountable if elected to the state Supreme Court.

The campaign said the buy, which started this week, is $1.1 million through the April 7 election and includes the Green Bay, La Crosse/Eau Claire, Madison, Milwaukee and Wausau markets.

The ad opens with a narrator showing Karofsky in court, saying it’s her “arena, and she doesn’t mess around.”

The narrator says Karofsky has locked up criminals and protected families as a prosecutor and now a trial judge. He also says she’s a two-time Ironman athlete and “No one outworks her” before saying she’s entering “this arena” in running for the state Supreme Court to stop corruption and the influence of “big-money special interests.”

“Whether you’re a violent criminal or a corrupt politician, I will hold you accountable,” Karofsky says.

WisPolitics.com reported earlier this week that Justice Daniel Kelly is going up on TV next week. The two square off in the April 7 election for a 10-year term on the bench.
