LeMahieu appoints Marklein JFC co-chair

Senate Majority Leader-elect Devin LeMahieu today appointed Sen. Howard Marklein, R-Spring Green, co-chair of the Joint Finance Committee.
Marklein replaces Sen. Alberta Darling, a River Hills Republican who had chaired the committee a record six sessions.
Marklein was first appointed to the committee shortly after his 2014 win of his southwestern Wisconsin seat. Senate GOP sources told WisPolitics.com last week that Marklein nominated LeMahieu for majority leader during last week’s caucus.
