WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 6, 2020) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed Tom Tiffany today for election to the United States House of Representatives. The special election to fill Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District seat will be held on May 12.

“I’ve known Tom for decades. He’s a responsible small business owner with a pulse on the Wisconsin economy. Look at his voting record as a state representative and state senator: Tom has been with small business on every single vote he’s ever cast. I’m confident Tom will take that small business mentality to Washington D.C. and make Wisconsin small business owners proud,” said NFIB State Director in Wisconsin, Bill G. Smith.

Tom Tiffany owned and operated his small business, Wilderness Cruises, for more than 20 years. He is a former town supervisor and served on the Oneida County Economic Development Board of Directors. Most recently, Tiffany served a term in the State Assembly and is currently serving his second term as a State Senator for the 12th District. Tiffany earned a 100% NFIB voting record during his time in the state legislature.

“These are unprecedented times for small business in Wisconsin and across our country,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “The past few months have brought a sudden and dramatic downturn of our nation’s economy, and we need strong small business advocates in Congress now more than ever. As a small business owner for more than two decades, Tom Tiffany understands the challenges that small businesses are facing. That’s why we are proud to endorse Tom Tiffany today for election to the U.S. House of Representatives.”

Tiffany’s endorsement comes from NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by NFIB member donations above membership dues. Decisions made by NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member driven grassroots evaluation process. Small business owners are influential in their communities and NFIB members in Wisconsin will work hard to elect Tom Tiffany to Congress.
