GREEN BAY – Today, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin (PPAWI) announced its endorsement of Kristina Shelton in a contested primary in Green Bay’s 90th Assembly District. Shelton is running against incumbent Staush Gruszynski, who faced serious and substantiated allegations of sexual harassment last year, resulting in his removal from the Assembly Democratic Caucus. The primary election is August 11th.
Statement from Koby Schellenger, Regional Director of PPAWI:
“PPAWI is proud to endorse Kristina Shelton for State Assembly in Green Bay. Throughout her career, Kristina has been an advocate for justice and healthy communities–from fair treatment at work to clean water. She knows that when women do better, families do better. Her commitment to quality, affordable health care for everyone reflects the priorities of her community. Kristina’s experience on the Green Bay Area Public School Board shows she is invested in the future of Green Bay and is ready to lead.
“Who we elect matters. We expect our elected representatives to align their actions with the values they talk about on the campaign trail. Sexually harassing others in the workplace is unacceptable. Everyone should be safe to do their jobs, especially in state government.”
