Madison…State Representative Joan Ballweg (R-Markesan) presented one of her 16th Annual Joan Ballweg Leadership Scholarships to Lourdes Academy Senior, Patrick Derleth. Each year, five $500 scholarships are awarded to outstanding students across the 41st Assembly District. Each recipient will receive their scholarship and a congratulatory video from Rep. Ballweg virtually.

“These scholarships are awarded to students who are active in and outside of the classroom, achieve good grades and are role models and leaders among their community,” said Ballweg. “Patrick is a strong leader on his football team, is an academically talented young man, and has made an impact on his community at Lourdes Academy and his community. This year’s group of leaders are ambitious and inspiring, and I know they will continue to do great things as they go on to pursue their degrees.”

Patrick Derleth, Lourdes Academy, is a well-rounded student leader. His academic success and strong work ethic will lead him to attend St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona. He has demonstrated his leadership on his football team, for the student body at Lourdes Academy, the Oshkosh community and his parish in Berlin.

“Congratulations, Patrick! You’ve excelled as a student leader and have made your parents and community proud,” said Ballweg. “Your next challenge is to take what you’ve learned through these experiences and go forward, making Wisconsin a better place for us all.”

Awards were also given to Alissa St. Louis of Princeton, Allison Wendt of Berlin, Erin Pease of Adams-Friendship, and Theo Rauch of Ripon.
