Madison…State Representative Joan Ballweg (R-Markesan) released the following statement after the announcement by Tom Diehl, President and Co-Owner of the Tommy Bartlett Show, that the show is closing permanently.

“I am sad to see the show go, but happy they have been such an integral part of the community.” Ballweg said, “I wish Tom and his family the best and know they will still be strong advocates for local tourism and the Wisconsin Dells community. To the performers and employees, thank you for providing such joy to the people of Wisconsin and those who come to visit our state. The central Wisconsin tourism scene will certainly have a large hole to fill with the show’s end.”

The closure of the show comes after 69 years of providing quality family entertainment. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the show had to cancel its 2020 summer season. More than 20 million people have enjoyed the performances over the course of nearly 19,000 shows. The Tommy Bartlett Show has been a staple in the Wisconsin Dells tourism community and consistently held a spot as a “must-see” attraction, helping to solidify Wisconsin Dells into the destination it is today.
