Madison – Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) issued the following statement on Representative John Nygren announcing his resignation from the Wisconsin State Assembly:

“I want to thank Rep. Nygren for all his years of dedicated service to his district and to this state. Rep. Nygren has been a tremendous asset to the Legislature and to the Joint Committee on Finance,” Rep. Born said. “Under Rep. Nygren’s leadership as Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Finance, Wisconsin has seen balanced budgets, lower taxes, and the largest rainy day fund in our state’s history.

“Not only has our state’s financial statement become stronger but our investment in people has increased. Rep. Nygren led the charge on the fight against substance abuse by championing the Heroin, Opiate, Prevention, and Education (HOPE) Agenda. Nygren has been a friend and a mentor to me. I wish him well in his future endeavors.”
