Madison – On Monday, August 24th, Representative Barbara Dittrich (R – Oconomowoc) joined First Lady Melania Trump and a small group of dignitaries to celebrate the passage of the 19th Amendment depicted in original art by young ladies from across the nation.

Priscilla Wilbanks, an elementary-aged homeschool student from the 38th Assembly District, represented Wisconsin with her artwork. Her drawing depicted 3 women suffragettes campaigning for the right to vote.

“The event was a remarkable honor for both myself and young Priscilla to attend. It was a delight getting to know her family a bit. I was impressed that a young girl her age could capture the movement with such a remarkable drawing. Her mother is doing a wonderful job of home schooling her children.

“With great fanfare or from a military band, this event in front of the White House left me with goose bumps as I witnessed a gathering of young ladies from around the nation who not only know the historic fight for women’s right to vote, but who will be our next generation of voters in this country. This was an honor that I will never forget,” concluded Rep. Dittrich.
