Delafield, WI – Representative Cindi Duchow (R-Delafield) issued the following statement after last week’s Campaigns and Elections Committee hearing examining irregularities in the 2020 election:

“The testimony given to the Legislature during the Assembly and Senate Campaigns and Elections Committee public hearing raised several concerns regarding irregularities in our state’s election process. I am extremely troubled by claims that election laws were not followed, election observers were intimidated and bullied at the polls, and elderly voters may have had their votes stolen in long-term care facilities, among others. Regardless of what my colleagues on the other side of the aisle say, we must take these accusations seriously and take steps to address them for future elections.

“Now more than ever, we need commonsense election reform to increase transparency and ensure that every lawful vote is counted. I look forward to working with my legislative colleagues on crafting meaningful legislation that ensures our elections are conducted in a fair and safe manner. As the Legislature moves forward with necessary election reform, I am calling on Governor Evers to sign the initiatives into law.
