Madison, WI- Senator-Elect Mary Felzkowski (R-Tomahawk) released the following statement regarding her appointment to serve on the Legislature’s Joint Committee on Finance (JFC) during the 2021-22 Legislative Session:

“I am honored to be entrusted with this responsibility and thank Majority Leader-Elect LeMahieu for putting his trust in me. I will use my previous finance experience and my role as a small business owner to guide me in making fiscally conservative and responsible decisions.”

Senator-Elect Felzkowski previously served two terms on the Joint Committee on Finance as a Representative for the 35th Assembly District. The budgets crafted during her previous terms led to Wisconsin ending its fiscal biennia with surpluses, while also investing historically high levels in the state’s Rainy Day Fund.

“I look forward to serving under Co-Chair Howard Marklein, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position, and with my colleagues Senator Duey Stroebel, Senator Dale Kooyenga, Senator-Elect Joan Ballweg, and Senator Kathy Bernier, a team with strong female representation. It has never been more important for us to make the hard decisions that will keep our state financially heathy, and I am confident in our team’s ability to make the right choices for the people of Wisconsin.”

In January, Senator-Elect Felzkowski will begin her first term serving the 12th Senate District, one of the most rural Senate districts, including eleven counties in northern Wisconsin.

“Wisconsin has been extremely blessed to have strong northern conservative voices on JFC in past budget cycles and I look forward to continuing to carry that torch. I am eager to get to work and expand on the strong foundation we’ve built over the last decade.”
