Statement: Rep. Jessie Rodriguez on Pfc. Evan Bath
Madison…Rep. Jessie Rodriguez released the following statement on Marine and Oak Creek native Evan Bath.
“Pfc. Evan Bath was reported missing after a training accident with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit off the coast of Southern California on Thursday. I have known Evan’s mother for many years and I joined her in praying, along with many others, for his safe recovery. Unfortunately after several days of searching the search was called off and Evan, along with seven other Marines, are presumed dead.
“Evan is a graduate of Oak Creek High School and according to his mother, his biggest desire was to become Marine Corps Infantry. Evan wanted to serve his country and I am grateful for his commitment and courage to answer the call. He is gone too soon but will always be remembered as a hero.”
