La Crosse, WI— Rep. Ron Kind is encouraging Supplemental Security Income and Department of Veterans Affairs beneficiaries to act by Tuesday, May 5, 2020, if they didn’t file a 2018 or 2019 tax return and have dependents in order to receive their full Economic Impact Payment quickly.
“Wisconsinites who are Supplemental Security Income or Department of Veterans Affairs beneficiaries and have dependents should act today to receive their full Economic Impact Payment,” said Rep. Ron Kind. “As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, many are facing economic difficulties, so I want to ensure folks are aware of the deadline and are receiving the full amount of relief funding available to them.”
Although SSI and VA recipients will receive the $1,200 automatically, they must use the Non-Filers tool on IRS.gov by May 5 to get the extra $500 per child added to their payment. More information from the IRS can be found here.
