Madison–State Representative John Nygren (R-Marinette) released the following statement:

“Today, the Assembly passed legislation that would provide individuals who are impacted by PFAS contamination with clean water. This legislation will be a critical component of the state’s response to PFAS contamination.”

“While what the Assembly passed is not the complete package of legislation that I hoped we would pass, it is something that I believe can pass the Senate and will provide clean water for residents in Marinette and Peshtigo who are dealing with PFAS contamination.”

“Together, with legislation to ban the use of firefighting foam containing PFAS, remove firefighting foam containing PFAS from circulation, and the DNR’s work to establish PFAS regulations, this latest legislation is part of a swift response by the state to the issue of PFAS contamination.”
