Lodi… Rep. Jon Plumer (R-Lodi) released the following statement in response to Governor Evers’ ‘Safer At Home’ order.

“During this time of crisis for our country and our state, I have chosen to remain optimistic about our future and supportive of our leaders, trusting that they are operating in our best interests. Governor Evers is under immense pressure and has been tasked with making extremely difficult decisions during an unprecedented time.

“However, I am concerned with the lack of transparency that the Governor has shown his constituents prior to announcing the new ‘Safer At Home’ order. Businesses are facing a dire situation and must know how to move forward. By providing minimal information ahead of time, Governor Evers has caused panic for business owners who are trying to stay afloat. It is my hope that as we move forward that Governor Evers provides as much information as possible so that business owners and families are able to prepare themselves properly.

“This is not a time for political posturing or sniping but the appetite for information is higher than ever. While I am not completely comfortable with this new order and the precedence it sets, I am hopeful that it is being done using credible information and with only good intentions.

“The Legislature has been mostly left out of the decision-making process and has not been given advance warning regarding any decision that has been made. I encourage the Evers Administration to be up front with their plans and to inform the Legislature and the public as soon as possible as the situation changes. We are all in this together and I am willing to assist in any way I can.”
