MADISON– Melissa Sargent (D-Madison) released the following statement announcing an endorsement from radio personality John ‘Sly’ Sylvester, for her candidacy for Wisconsin’s 16th Senate District:

 

“Today I am proud to share an endorsement from community icon John ‘Sly’ Sylvester,” said Sargent. “Sly is a passionate radio host providing the Madison area with a witty and refreshing mix of music, politics, and humor. I am grateful for his contributions to Madison culture, and for his support.”

 

John “Sly” Sylvester, an icon in Madison radio, currently broadcasting “Afternoons with Sly” on 101.5 WIBA FM from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. His show offers a mix of classic rock music, Wisconsin sports, humor, and Sly’s unique spirit and unmistakable Wisconsin attitude.

 

“I am supporting Melissa Sargent because of her ability to chart her own course,” said Sly. Politics has become too predictable, yet Melissa isn’t afraid to take courageous stands on tough issues that few others are willing to tackle. Her work ethic and integrity will serve us well,” he continued.
