MADISON– Melissa Sargent (D-Madison) released the following statement announcing an endorsement from Shannon Maier for her candidacy for Wisconsin’s 16th Senate District:

“Today I am proud to announce an endorsement from Shannon Maier,” said Sargent. “Shannon has always fought for progressive values in Dane County, and I appreciate her support.”

Shannon Maier is an Employee Advocate Manager for Dane County. For 13 years, Maier served as the President of AFSCME in Dane County, an organization promoting workers’ rights and fair labor practices. In both her personal and professional endeavors, Maier has been a relentless advocate for labor-friendly values and the protection of employee benefits and working conditions. Maier resides in the northside of Madison.

“Throughout her time in public service and beyond, Melissa has demonstrated that she will always fight alongside working families and for equal rights in the workplace,” said Maier. “From fighting for a living wage, to ensuring equity among all workers, Melissa has continually dedicated energy and effort to fighting for workers everywhere. I look forward to Melissa continuing this fight as our State Senator.”
