MADISON– Melissa Sargent (D-Madison) released the following statement announcing an endorsement from Tim Swadley, Mayor of Stoughton, for her candidacy for Wisconsin’s 16th Senate District:

“Today I am proud to announce an endorsement from Mayor Tim Swadley,” said Sargent. “Tim has worked for a collaborative, communicative government in Stoughton, and his leadership as Mayor has brought great positive change for the city.”

Tim Swadley was elected Mayor of Stoughton in 2018. Prior to his service as mayor, Swadley worked as a fastenal implementation project manager and additionally served on the Stoughton City Council since 2011, spending two years as council president. Swadley was also a member of the Stoughton School Board from 2004 to 2011. As mayor, Swadley has worked to assure an open and transparent government and promote strategic growth for the city of Stoughton.

“Melissa Sargent brings the type of values and leadership we need at the Wisconsin State Capitol. As a small business owner, I know Melissa understands the balance of making difficult decisions while providing the quality of life Wisconsin families deserve and enjoy,” said Swadley. “Melissa will search for common ground and seek collaborative solutions.
