STEVENS POINT- Today, Rep. Katrina Shankland (D-Stevens Point) announced that the RENEW Wisconsin Energy Fund has presented her with a Legislative Leadership Award in recognition of her outstanding record on renewable energy. RENEW Wisconsin is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing renewable energy in Wisconsin.
Rep. Shankland released the following statement in response:
“I am honored to receive this recognition for my work in clean energy. I have been advocating for renewable energy initiatives since long before I was elected, and I have introduced clean energy bills every year since I took office. Last year, I also had the phenomenal opportunity to be the first Wisconsin legislator to attend the Clean Energy Legislative Academy, where I appreciated learning from experts and collaborating with Democratic and Republican legislators from across the country.
“Investing in clean energy creates family-supporting jobs, strengthens the public health, buoys the local economy, and protects our natural resources. I look forward to continuing to champion this issue in the Legislature.”
