Madison –This week, Representative John Spiros (R-Marshfield) was named the chairman of the Assembly Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety and the Joint Review Committee on Criminal Penalties for the 2021-2022 legislative session.

“I look forward to serving as the chairman of the Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety for the third session in a row and the Joint Review Committee on Criminal Penalties for the first time. Having served as chairman of the Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety for the 2017-2018 and 2019-2020 sessions, I’m tremendously proud of what we have been able to accomplish.

Rep. Spiros served in the United States Air Force for six years as a Security Policeman and was part of the SAC “Elite” Guard responsible for the protection of the Commander in Chief SAC, 20+ Generals, Admirals and the command center for the Strategic Air Command. After leaving the service, he served as a police officer. He has been in the transportation industry for 28 years, in the role of VP of Safety and Claims Management.

Rep. Spiros represents the 86th Assembly District which includes communities in Marathon and Wood Counties.
