MADISON – Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released the below statement following a press conference today unveiling 13 bills crafted by the bipartisan Speaker’s Task Force on Water Quality:

“After months of travel, hearings, and dedication, I am incredibly proud to see the legislation the Speaker’s Task Force on Water Quality has put forward to improve our state’s surface and ground water. The task force visited every corner of Wisconsin, from Superior to Racine, Lancaster to Green Bay, seeking the expertise and knowledge of scientists, stakeholders, and residents alike on what our state needs to better our water quality. Chairman Novak has done an outstanding job of guiding the bipartisan group through this process, and the end result is a reflection of his commitment to not only his constituents, but our entire state.

“The package of bills will undoubtedly take meaningful steps in the right direction for our state’s water quality. In the coming days, I look forward to reviewing these bills with our caucus.”
