Dear Fellow Legislator,
Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on your successful election on Tuesday night and returning our 61 member caucus to the legislature. Our next legislative session will bring challenges and issues to confront that we would not have envisioned only a year ago. Your strength and willingness to find solutions for those we serve in Wisconsin and to respond appropriately will be critical.
Serving alongside many of you since my election in 2014, has been a tremendous learning and inspiring experience. I have seen the passion that you bring to the Legislature to serve your respective constituencies. I commend our caucus members on the depth of experience and knowledge brought forward via a diverse set personal and professional backgrounds. This is why I would like to serve in leadership.
It is now time once again to select leadership as we move into the next session. I respectfully ask for your support as we elect the next Assistant Majority Leader.
My focus as Assistant Majority Leader would be on continuing to make the most of the talents of our individual caucus members, listening to their vision for their district and our state, and moving Wisconsin forward with our caucus’ legacy of conservative values.
I want to share my experience as a family business owner, new car dealer, employer, dairy farm family member, hospital board member, and church leader. Service to my community has always been at the heart of my work and I intend to continue to bring that aspect into our relationship.
Identifying meaningful yet critical issues at this time is important as we govern. Our legislative session always moves quickly and I have no doubt that this session will be no different. I am anxious to help bring your ideas into an agreed upon plan for the future and collaboratively identifying how we can effectively message our goals, plans, and accomplishments to those we serve.
