Madison…Speaker Robin Vos announced that he has appointed Orlando Owens to the Speaker’s Task Force on Racial Disparities.

“Orlando Owens is a community leader and will bring valuable experience and perspective to the task force,” said Speaker Vos. “He has been an advocate for bipartisan policies and a positive voice for many people in Milwaukee.”

Through his involvement with The Joseph Project and as a Minister at Abundant Harvest Church of God In Christ, Owens has close ties to the Milwaukee community. He is an advocate for education and introducing career opportunities to youth early on. He is up-to-date on the progress of the task force and attended the public hearing held in Green Bay.

“The best way forward is not through divisive and partisan politics but through bipartisan cooperation,” Speaker Vos said. “This task force is an opportunity to bring people together to find solutions and Orlando will be a key part in achieving that goal.”
