Madison…Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) released the following statements concerning the projected revenue numbers from the Legislative Fiscal Bureau.
“The new revenue numbers show that Wisconsin has a great economy that was created through tax reductions, an attractive business climate and responsible budgeting. Unlike the federal government, the state is spending within its means and saving for a rainy day to make sure Wisconsin can weather future economic downturns.
“In this growing economy, we’re not going to grow the size of government. While Democrats will likely try to spend every cent, Republicans will make sound fiscal decisions and return surplus dollars to the people who earn them. I look forward to working with my colleagues on a plan to pay down debt or reduce taxes.”
