Walworth, WI – Today, the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC) announced its recommendation for Elizabeth Lochner-Abel for State Assembly District 31.
“Assembly District 31 needs a representative that listens to all of its constituents, and the needs that they have. She will advance education equity and support public schools across Wisconsin,” said WEAC President Ron “Duff” Martin.
“After spending 37 years in the classroom, I know firsthand what teachers and students need to succeed. For far too long, funding for our public schools has taken a back seat in this state, it’s time to restore Wisconsin’s top education standings in this country and ensure that every child in Wisconsin regardless of their background, zip code or economic status has the opportunity to receive the quality education,” said Liz Lochner-Abel. “I’m honored to receive WEAC’s support and look forward to fighting alongside them to bring the needed funding back to our schools.”
Liz Lochner-Abel was a classroom teacher and coach for 37 years in Wisconsin public schools. Liz is a fourth-generation Wisconsinite. Liz and her husband have worked and raised their two daughters in Wisconsin’s 31st Assembly District. The 31st Assembly District 31 includes Darien, Walworth, Sharon, Clinton, Elkhorn, and surrounding areas of Beloit and Janesville.
