The Rock County Progressives present: Robert McChesney on The Elections and the Media, Wednesday November 11, 6:30 PM on Zoom and Facebook

“While it has often been said before, the 2020 elections may be the most important in our lifetimes, with the media playing an even greater role given the pandemic,” said Chuck Ogg of the Rock County Progressives. “Therefore we are thrilled to present Robert McChesney speaking on ‘The Election and the Media.’  Robert is host of the weekly talk show, Media Matters, on WILL-AM radio, and cofounder of the media reform organization Free Press.  He is a Gutgsell Endowed Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Illinois,  author of People Get Ready: The Fight Against a Jobless Economy and a Citizenless Democracy, Digital Disconnect: How Capitalism is Turning the Internet Against Democracy, and co-author with John Nichols of Dollarocracy: How the Money-and-Media-Election Complex is Destroying America.’  Utne Reader in 2008 listed him as one of their ’50 visionaries who are changing the world.’
