MADISON– Melissa Sargent (D-Madison) released the following statement announcing an endorsement from Christopher Kilgour for her candidacy for Wisconsin’s 16th Senate District:

 

“Today I am happy to share an endorsement from Christopher Kilgour,” said Sargent. “Christopher is an educator and advocate working in our Indigenous communities and other underrepresented and  marginalized communities, and I greatly value his support for my campaign for State Senate.”

 

Christopher Kilgour is the Tribal Programs Manager at the Information Technology Academy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2018, Kilgour founded Color In The Outdoors, a program that coordinates outdoor activities, networking, resource sharing, advocacy, and celebration of the outdoors. Prior to his leadership as Tribal Programs Manager, Kilgour served as President at ShadowPro Enterprises, LLC. Kilgour is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he studied Anthropology, American Indian studies, as well as environmental studies.

 

“I have known Melissa for decades, she has a strong record of working with and for local government. From her time on the County Board to her legislative record in the State Assembly, Melissa has demonstrated the importance of lifting up our local communities and ensuring they have a seat at the table,” said Kilgour. “With over a decade of public service and advocacy under her belt, Melissa has proven that she is the right leader for the State Senate.”
