MADISON– Melissa Sargent (D-Madison) released the following statement announcing an endorsement from Scott McDonell for her candidacy for Wisconsin’s 16th Senate District:

 

“Today I am proud to announce an endorsement from Dane County Clerk Scott McDonell,” said Sargent. “Having first-hand experience working with Scott, I know how hard he works to ensure equal opportunity for all of our families.”

 

Scott McDonell serves as Dane County Clerk, working to ensure free and fair elections in Dane County. McDonell has been an active advocate for increasing voter turnout, particularly in the elderly and youth populations. Additionally, McDonall served on the Dane County Board of Supervisors with Sargent. Later, McDonell worked as County Board Chair from 2005 until his election as Dane County Clerk in 2012.

 

“From health equity to criminal justice reform to fairness for all, Melissa is an excellent county leader,” said McDonell. “Having worked with Melissa firsthand, I have and will continue to trust her leading our communities.”

 

“Working with Scott on the Dane County Board was an absolute pleasure, and I am extremely grateful to be receiving his formal endorsement,” said Sargent.
