MADISON– Melissa Sargent (D-Madison) released the following statement announcing an endorsement from Srivalli Paulson Ihlenfeld for her candidacy for Wisconsin’s 16th Senate District:

“Today I am excited to announce an endorsement from Srivalli Paulson Ihlenfeld,” said Sargent. “Sri’s academic and professional accomplishments make me proud to have such exceptional young leaders in Wisconsin.”

Srivalli Paulson Ihlenfeld is currently a student at Ripon College studying Psychology and Education. Raised in Madison’s northside and graduate of Madison East High School, Paulson Ihlenfeld was awarded with Outstanding Student for Rotary South. Paulson Ihlenfeld has also received National Honors Society and restorative justice awards.

“As a young woman that’s politically advocate, it has always been clear to me that Melissa Sargent is the best representative for young adults. I have known Melissa since I was in kindergarten, and I’ve always trusted her– she’s like another mother to me,” said Paulson Ihlenfeld. “Her progressive values and legislation for the County Board and State Assembly has shown Melissa’s expansive work for improving our lives. I can’t wait to see the positive reform she brings in our State Senate.”

“I’ve known Sri from a young age, and watching her grow up to be the exceptional young woman that she is makes me incredibly proud,” said Sargent. “I truly appreciate her support and friendship.”
