MADISON– Melissa Sargent (D-Madison) released the following statement announcing an endorsement from the Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council for her candidacy for Wisconsin’s 16th Senate District:
“Today I am proud to announce a campaign endorsement from the hardworking craft laborers at the Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council. The Wisconsin Laborers have gone to bat for the hardworking people that build our infrastructure and keep our economy moving,” said Sargent.
The Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council (WLDC) represents union construction craft laborers who help build our roads, bridges, sewer and water, and other critical pieces of infrastructure. They have fought to give their workers better pay, retirement security, and access to healthcare. The workers within the WLDC are dedicated to the quality of their craft and a commitment to excellence.
“Melissa Sargent is a leader in the State Legislature advocating for workers’ rights and family-supporting jobs. The Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council enthusiastically endorses her campaign for the 16th Senate District where she will continue her advocacy for Wisconsin workers,” said John Schmitt, President/Business Manager of the Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council.
“It is my honor to be endorsed by the WLDC and I am grateful for their support. As your next State Senator, I will continue to stand for Wisconsin workers,” said Sargent.
