MADISON– Senator Robert Cowles (R-Green Bay) released the following statement after Senate Majority Leader-Elect Devin LeMahieu (R-Oostburg) released committee assignments for the 2021-22 Legislative Session. Senator Cowles will retain his 2019 Committee Assignments as he returns to Chair the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Energy and Co-Chair the Joint Legislative Audit Committee. Senator Cowles is also moving from member to Vice-Chair of the realigned Senate Committee on Transportation and Local Government (previously the Senate Committee on Transportation, Veterans and Military Affairs):

“I’m excited to be reappointed to these committee assignments for the 2021-22 Legislative Session, and thank Senator LeMahieu for these roles. Over the past few sessions, I’ve been pleased to work to promote sensible natural resources and energy policies that advance environmental protections while growing our state’s industrial, forest product and tourism-based economy, and promote accountability and transparency in state government by rooting out waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement with the award-winning nonpartisan Legislative Audit Bureau.

“Achievements stemming from this work have been unmistakable and the list of accomplishments is lengthy, but these committee assignments don’t represent the past, they represent the work to come. I look forward to continuing to lead meaningful discussions with members on both sides of the aisle on natural resources and energy policy and accountability and transparency in state government for the next two years.”
