MADISON – Senator-elect Melissa Agard (D-Madison) released the following statement after the tragic death of an F-16 pilot from the 115th Fighter Wing in a crash in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula during a training mission on Thursday. The 115th Fighter Wing is a unit of the Wisconsin Air National Guard, which is stationed at Truax Field Air National Guard Base on the east side of Madison.
“My heart goes out to the pilot’s family and loved ones. His service to his country will not be forgotten. I have seen firsthand the dedication and commitment to service of the members of the 115th Fighter Wing. I am thinking of their unit as they cope with this loss today. This unit, and the entire Wisconsin National Guard are like a family, and as they mourn this tragic loss, I, and the rest of Wisconsin mourn with them.”
