[Madison, WI]  Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald released the following statement regarding today’s anti-life U.S. Supreme Court ruling against a Louisiana abortion law:

“I was holding out hope that a ruling on Louisiana’s law would open the door to the U.S. Supreme Court reconsidering Wisconsin’s laws on admitting privileges. Unfortunately, the Court once again failed to take an opportunity to protect the sanctity of life.

“Republicans around the country should use today as a rallying cry for November and beyond. We need more leaders willing to push pro-life legislation and support conservative justices willing to take pro-life stands.”

Sen. Fitzgerald is the author of Wisconsin’s partial-birth abortion ban. Earlier this year, Fitzgerald and other Republican lawmakers sent Governor Evers a package of common sense, pro-life bills. The governor vetoed all of the legislation.

Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) represents the 13th Senate District, which covers portions of Dodge, Jefferson, Waukesha, Washington, Dane, and Columbia counties.
