[Madison, WI] – Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald released the following
statement following a ruling from the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in DNC v Bostelmann:

“This ruling is a huge win for preserving the integrity of our election process in
Wisconsin. Elections are decided on Election Day, period. Having ballots flow into
clerk’s offices all over the state for days following Election Day is a preposterous setup
that would completely undermine confidence in our state’s election processes.

“Legislative Republicans have once again had to seek relief from the courts to stop the
Democrats from exploiting Covid-19 for their own partisan purposes. This is the ninth
time Legislative Republicans have successfully defended Wisconsin’s existing election
laws in the courts, including going all the way to both the Wisconsin and U.S. Supreme
Courts. We are thankful for the favorable ruling today in federal court.”
