MADISON – Senate Majority Leader-Elect Devin LeMahieu (R-Oostburg) has reappointed
Senator Van Wanggaard (R-Racine) chairman of the Senate Judiciary and Public Safety
Committee, and as vice-chairman of Labor & Regulatory Reform Committee.

“I’m honored to be re-appointed chairman of the Judiciary & Public Safety Committee,” said Wanggaard. “This is always a very busy committee, and this session will be no different. Crime victim rights, protecting the vulnerable and tort reform are traditional topics for the committee. With the events of 2020, police transparency and accountability, and balancing the right to peacefully protest while prohibiting rioting, the committee will have increased scrutiny and importance. I’m looking forward to it.”

This marks the 4th Consecutive session that Wanggaard will chair the Judiciary & Public Safety Committee. Wanggaard will also co-chair the Joint Review Committee on Criminal Penalties and serve on the Utilities, Technology & Telecommunications Committee.
