MADISON – Friday, July 24th marks the 100th day since Senator Alberta Darling (R-River
Hills) and her Republican colleagues adjourned the legislative session. While neighboring states like Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan have already implemented safety precautions like requiring individuals to wear masks, similar pleas in Wisconsin have fallen on deaf ears of Republican legislators, including Senator Alberta Darling (R-River Hills). Despite COVID-19 cases and deaths continuing to rise, Republicans have refused to enact any life saving precautions.

“As Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Finance, Senator Darling has refused to use her position to protect the health and well-being of Wisconsinites,” said SSDC Executive Director Eric LaGesse. “In these last 100 days she has been silent in pushing her Republican colleagues to come together to pass additional COVID-19 relief legislation. It is unbelievable that Darling is refusing to do her job when Wisconsin lives are at stake. Residents in Senate District 8 deserve someone who will fight for them, and that is certainly not Alberta Darling.”
