MADISON, Wis. – State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski officially proclaimed this week officially “Wisconsin Saves Week” as part of the nationwide initiative, American Saves Week. As part of this week of action, the Treasurer is encouraging Wisconsinites to strengthen their personal financial security by promoting resources to help improve savings habits.
“As the State’s chief financial officer it’s my job to help our citizens become more financially secure,” said Treasurer Sarah Godlewski. “Wisconsin Saves Week is an opportunity for us to promote tools and tips to do that, encouraging Wisconsinites to put money away for a rainy day fund, retirement, further education, or buying a home.”
To encourage people to save more successfully and encourage more people to save, the Office of the State Treasurer is partnering with other organizations to spread the word. You can find resources on financial wellness by visiting www.wisconsinsaves.
“I’m a proud partner with America Saves and their mission to save money and build wealth in Wisconsin communities. The programs that America Saves provides are critical to promoting economic security, and I’ve proclaimed Wisconsin Saves Week in support of these opportunities. As State Treasurer I will continue to partner with local communities and spread awareness of the importance of financial security,” said Treasurer Godlewski.
