U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Janesville, told GOP activists it’s time for the party to “go on offense” and tout its principles.
Steil said the party has been on defense for too long and needs to talk about things it supports such as school choice and opportunity zones.
Republicans have touted both programs as a way to appeal to minority voters.
“For far too long, we’ve been on defense,” Steil said. “We need to be on offense. We need to talk about how the Republican Party is the party of ideas to create a more perfect union.”
